THE FAMOUS “GOVERNO METHOD”.

La Bestia Governo all’Uso Toscano is produced from Sangiovese grapes. The grapes are processed according to the traditional Governo all’uso Toscano method, which is an over 700-year-old Tuscan technique for processing wine.
Similar to the Ripasso method known from Veneto’s Amarone wines, the grapes are dried under the hot Tuscan sun for a few weeks. The dried grapes provide a concentrated juice which adds complexity and fullness to the wine.
The Governo method is favorable for the Sangiovese wines, which often appear with a slightly characteristic fruity acidity. The Governo method removes a large part of the Sangiovese grape’s acid and thus gives a really nice red wine with fine power and delicious fullness.

THE BARBANERA FAMILY.

In one of Italy’s most beautiful corners, on the slopes of Monte Cetona, the Barbanera family founded their family company in 1938. The area of Valdichiana is located in the middle of Tuscany’s breathtakingly beautiful countryside. Today, Barbanera appears as a dynamic, modern company with exports to most of the world. Initially, the family concentrated on wines from Tuscany, but the increasing demand for wines from other regions of Italy led to an expansion of Barbanera’s product portfolio, which now also includes wines from other Italian regions. Not undeservedly, Barbanera’s wines have won several awards and medals in recent years
