Pusser’s British Navy Rum Selected Aged 151 at 75.5%, is a rum that is inspired by the rum that all sailors in “The British Navy” got in their daily ration from the mid 1600s, right up to 31 July 1970 (known as Black Tot Day).

An excellent rum from the Demerara Distillery in British Guiana, which is “similar” to the rum that was delivered in the good old days – back then it was delivered in cask strength to the Royal Navy shipyards in Deptford, Gosport and Devonport. There it was diluted, via implementation of the “% proof! The rum must not be lower in alcohol than that gunpowder still ignites even if a bottle of rum was poured over it.

Selected Aged 151 is aged for a minimum of three years in 1st fill bourbon casks and is produced in accordance with the then current Admiralty Regulations for rum. The content is cold-filtered to further improve its taste and expression.

Fragrance

The aroma is classic Demerara notes with marmalade, marzipan, cinnamon and tobacco

Taste

Full power and yet, very rounded with notes of syrupy spice and fruit, leather, dried sultanas, soft oak and English licorice

20 ml Strawberry sugar syrup
