Premium Aged Spirit Drink

Old St. Croix Spirit Drinks is a tribute to one of the most enterprising Danes, Albert Heinrich Riise, who successfully ran his pharmacy in Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas from 1838 to 1878.
A relaunch based on the original recipe for the “Royal Navy Strength Spirit Drink,” a creation by Albert Heinrich Riise that was supplied to naval ships when they called at the port of Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas.
The product is a blend of several spirits, aged up to 20 years, of the “Vedderburn and Plummer” type – molasses-based, characterized by slow fermentation and pot still distillation up to 85% ABV.
The result is a remarkable spirit with an extremely dark, almost black color and great complexity. Riise Royal Navy Strength is hand-blended in small batches and is neither chill-filtered nor caramel-colored.
Tasting notes are not an ingredient list but a subjective description of the flavor.
Nose
Stewed dark fruit, roasted figs, orange peel, coffee, licorice, molasses, and cedarwood.
Palate
Creamy, spicy, and highly elegant with notes of bitter orange and bergamot, complemented by rich sherry-caramel, dates, cardamom, and eucalyptus.
Finish
Long, powerful, rich, creamy, sweet, and spicy with a delightful minty overtone.
