Compass Box The Peat Monster is a Scottish Blended Malt from the Whiskey Geniet John Glaser. The Peat Monster is composed of several components: 40% Laphroaig, 20% Ledaig, 13% Caol ILA and 26% Ardmore – All stored on Refill Hogsheads. The last percentage consists of Compass Box ‘special “Highland Blend”. The recipe can vary a bit from year to year, but you can always expect an intense flavors with lots of smoke and superb balance. It is tapped at 46% alcohol, without dye or cooling filtration.
Color: Light golden.
Fragrance: Smoked bacon and mineral notes. Lots of peat, of course, but finely balanced by fruit.
Taste notes: Sweetness and smoke and notes of nectarines, lemon peel and cinnamon.
Serving suggestions: should be enjoyed clean, possibly. with a drop of water or two.
