Sacred English Extra Dry Vermouth 50 cl. 21,8%
Sacred Spirits – London
Sacred Dry Vermouth is made in collaboration with Bar Manager Alessandro Palazzi from the Dukes Hotel in Mayfair, London, England. Alessandro’s collaboration with Sacred also spans other products. Sacred Dry Vermouth is a very strong and spicy Vermouth. Like Sacred’s other vermouths, it is made with organic garden wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) (Wermut in German) from Sommerset. The wine comes partly from Three Choirs in Gloustershire and partly from Italy, which is Alessandro’s homeland. The vermouth is fortified to 23.8%, which is incredibly high for a vermouth, but which gives it an almost infinite lifespan, even when opened. It is a vermouth that is good on its own or with ice, as well as in cocktails. In addition to garden wormwood, thyme, iris root, cloves, gentian root (Gentian root in Danish) and organic vanilla pods from Madagascar are also used. You can’t get Sacred Dry Vermouth in England anywhere but Dukes, just like Sacred Amber Vermouth. Sacred Dry Vermouth is only available for Hotel d’Anglaterre in the year 2014/2015, from 1/10 2015 you will be able to sell it elsewhere. This vermouth is made in extremely small quantities, which is why booking bottles may be necessary. It is obvious to use Sacred Dry Vermouth for cocktails, e.g. together with Sacred Gin in a Dry Martini. WINNER OF WORLDS BEST DRY VERMOUTH, World Vermouth Awards 2019.
Sacret Spirits is located in Highgate, London. Here Ian Hart distills vodka, gin, vermouth and bitters. After completing his chemistry education, Ian worked as a broker on Wall Street, but would rather use his education for something concrete. He had collected Bordeaux for years and started by wanting to preserve the quality of the wines. In time he “invented” a gin, which he took to the local pub. Here it was a great success, and the small entrepreneurial family (wife Hilary) was then drawn into the business. What makes Sacred special is that it is distilled under vacuum, at low temperatures. Later, Ian was contacted by the bar manager at The Dukes Hotel in London, who had tasted his gin, and suddenly Ian found himself traveling around London’s tube, with gin deliveries to the entire city. He then had to switch to a professional distributor and the rest of the story is well known. Sacred Gin’s fantastic quality caused the product to spread first to the rest of the UK and later across the country’s borders. In 2013, Sacred Gin won double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. We are very proud to present Denmark with Sacred Spirit’s very limited production of less than 30,000 bottles annually. A thoroughly phenomenal producer of Gin.
