About the Product
Rums aged 6 to 10 years have been carefully selected from small oak casks, which have then been carefully blended to create this XO rum, which is full of complexity.

The Saint James plantations have been producing rum since 1765 in Sainte Marie on Martinique. It is said that a priest with entrepreneurial qualities moved to La Martinique and started the Saint James plantation when the French King Louis XIV banned all the manufacture and sale of spirits that were not wine-based. The rum was therefore sold to the English colonies (North America), where it was the most popular West Indian rum before the American Revolution.

Rhum Saint James is a Rhum Agricole (French agricultural rum). It is made from freshly pressed sugarcane juice, instead of molasses, and after distillation it is aged in oak, Limousin or American bourbon casks for a number of years.

Rhum Saint James has AOC classification (Appellation Origine Controlleé), where strict requirements are imposed on the entire production process.

Tasting notes
The color is beautiful mahogany and it has a pleasant and intense aroma with spicy and toasted notes. It has a long aftertaste with notes of coffee and cocoa rounded off with fruity notes of plum.

Should be enjoyed neat as is.

About Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits
Marie Brizard was born in France, 1714, and was the daughter of a cooper. In January 1755, she came across a West Indian sailor lying in the middle of the street, unconscious and with a high fever. Brizard took him home and cared for him until he was restored to good health. As a thank you for saving his life, he gave her the only thing he owned – a secret recipe for an extraordinary anise liqueur. Later that year, she teamed up with her nephew Jean-Baptiste Roger and founded the Marie Brizard & Roger Company. The company would go on to become one of the largest producers of wine and spirits in the world.
