Manufacturing
The well-known Pinot Noir grape, which is behind the red Burgundy wines, is also behind this crisp and delicious rosé wine. In the cooler climate of Alsace, the grapes develop a little less color and fullness, but the fruit intensity is great. The wine is not aged in casks and therefore appears with a light and crisp expression.
About the manufacturer
Henri Ehrhart is the only family-owned winery among the top 10 wineries in Alsace.
Maison Henri Ehrhart: In the 70s, Henri Ehrhart bought 4 hectares of vineyards around the small picturesque town of Ammerschwihr approx. 8 km. west of Colmar – the “capital” of Alsatian wines. Over the years, the family company has grown to be the fifth largest producer of Alsatian wines with 7 million bottles annually, and the company is today run by son Cyrille Ehrhart.
With their own winery and bottling plant in Ammerschwihr and with the very latest technology, the Ehrhart family has control over the quality of their wines and can bottle the wines at exactly the right time.
The Ehrhart family has a finger on both the French and international pulse, and the company is adept at adapting to consumers’ tastes in wine.
