Flower shop, honey, citrus fruits and toffee.

Spicy to begin with, transitioning to honey sweetness. Spices and acidity give a warm sensation in the mouth.

Aftertaste

Long aftertaste, still strong of spices and dark chocolate

In general
Ben Nevis 10 years is back with a new (and somewhat more minimalist) design. The content has also received a minor update – but only for the better.
The result is a spicy and fruity whisky, which in many ways perfectly demonstrates the features that are characteristic of Highland Whiskey – lots of fruit with a dash of spice. This makes it an obvious bottle to have on the shelf, for when you want to demonstrate what distinguishes Highland Whiskey from, for example, Islay or Speyside.

Tasting notes
Ben Nevis is a fantastic malt that oozes pride and quality. As Jim Murray said at an on-site tasting: “There is a wonderful balance to this malt that I will return to again and again!”
A multitude of impressions meet one’s nose – honey, citrus fruits and toffee, in addition to a scent of flowers and other plants – leading the mind to a flower shop.
On the palate, the bottle reveals spicy, and then transitions to a soft honey sweetness.
The aftertaste is long, powerful and spicy like dark chocolate.

About Ben Nevis
Ben Nevis is one of Scotland’s oldest existing distilleries. It was founded way back in 1825, and is located at the foot of the mountain it is named after. Ben Nevis (that is, the mountain) is, with its 1345 meters, the highest mountain in the whole of Great Britain.
The distillery was founded by ‘Long’ John McDonald. Got his nickname because of his (for the time) unusual height of 1.90cm.
Today, the distillery produces both Single Malt, Blended Malt and Blended Whisky.
