Nyetimber – Blanc de Blancs 75 CL

Product of England

Blanc de Blancs has a special place in our hearts as the first wine style we have ever produced, already in 1992. 2013 has an attractive golden color, small bubbles and delicate aromas. Aromas of fresh citrus are balanced with floral colors and lead to a rich pastry and brioche characters. Toasty and complex – as classic Blanc de Blancs should be.

Beautiful pale gold color with a fine pearl. This Blanc de Blancs shows our classic signature of delicate floral and citrus aromas followed by subtle vanilla and toast flavors, but now with a pure crystal core thanks to the introduction of Chardonnay from our Hampshire vineyards. A long, complex finish makes this a wine to enjoy.

With about five years on the readers, our Blanc de Blancs gives a tasty biscuit-y character, making it a very versatile wine. We take ours with some fritto misto and a bell aioli, thank you.

World class English bubbles? Obvious! New wood vineyards share similarities with some of the best in the world. Soil rich in lime and sandstone is a good breeding ground for vines in the south of England. The climate causes the grapes to ripen slowly, so that they achieve a perfect balance in acidity and maturity, complexity and finesse. At the same time, when climate change means that more classic wine regions often experience problems with too high temperatures, and the more northern wine regions – not just in England – benefit from the higher temperatures, there is every reason to expand their wine horizons.

The historical traces of Nyetimber go back to 1086, where the farm is mentioned in The Domesday Book, which was the Normans’ reason for tax collection in the land they conquered 20 years earlier, after the Battle of Hastings 1066. But many more years would pass. , before the first grapes were planted. They did not do so until 1988, when three of the most classic grapes for the production of sparkling wine were found in southern English soil – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Eric Heerema took over the farm in 2006 and hired the two current wineries.

Nyetimber only uses hand-picked grapes from its own fields, which Head Winemaker and Winemaker, Cherie Spriggs and Brad Greatrix personally inspect. The couple, who are also married, use the classic Methode Traditional for the production of the wines, which are stored for longer periods to develop the complexity.

Since the three have produced sparkling southern English wines, they have won awards around the world and won victories in countless competitions where the wines have been tasted and judged by some of the world’s most famous wine experts.
