Pinot noir is no longer exclusively the highly prized red Burgundy grape, good specimens of which have now become too expensive for even well-heeled wine lovers.
Thanks to the spread of the grape in the south-west of France, a more democratic interpretation of the grape has come, which, like this wine, is surprisingly affordable, with an – admittedly – simpler, but at the same time more popular wine profile, where there is a more rounded fruit and less acid than in Burgundy red wines.

Pinot noir is extremely picky about where it chooses to produce good results. In selected places in the Languedoc it is possible to make successful versions that do NOT taste like Burgundy, nor do they attempt to. In return, you get budget-friendly, pure pinot noir with healthy, juicy fruit and nice fullness.
Les Mougeottes Pinot Noir is such a wine: mouth-watering, robust wine that ideally combines the grape’s low tannic acid content with the influence of the warmer climate, giving berry aromas that go in the direction of mulberry, blackberry and just a hint of strawberry. Here is pure drinking pleasure, where the absence of gloomy tannins provides a seamless drinking experience.

Les Mougeottes is not a high-profile wine, but an honest and tasty affair that, served at 14-16°, will spread joy over a wide comb.
