G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe DOCG 2021 (ECO) 75 cl.
Piemonte – Italy
English – G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe DOCG 2021
Elegant, classic and approachable Barolo with great personality
G.D. Vajra’s Barolo Albe 2021 is a shining example of how Nebbiolo can be both refined and expressive. Crafted by the respected G.D. Vajra estate in the heart of Piemonte, this wine reflects a deep commitment to tradition, sustainability, and terroir.
Grapes & Winemaking
Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from three high-altitude vineyards – Fossati, Coste di Vergne, and La Volta – each with a different sun exposure (hence the name “Albe”, meaning “sunrises”). This diversity brings layered complexity and harmony to the final wine.
Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts, followed by a long maceration. The wine is then aged for about 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, which allow it to evolve gracefully without overpowering the varietal character.
Tasting Notes
Clear garnet red in the glass. The bouquet offers notes of ripe cherry, wild berries, rose petals, licorice, leather, and subtle spices. The palate is elegant and structured, with fresh acidity, polished tannins, and a long, refined finish. Enjoyable now, yet built to age beautifully.
Food & Pairing
Perfect with truffle pasta, braised meats, game, or mature cheeses. A Barolo for both newcomers and seasoned collectors.
