Millstone 100 Rye Whisky 70 cl. 50%

Millstone 100 Rye Whiskey is a Dutch “Single Rye” whiskey. As the name indicates, it is made of 100% rye – 51% is unpainted while 49% are painted. It is distilled on small copper pot stills and stores a minimum of 100 months on a 100% new, American oak fade before it is tapped at 50% alcohol, which can be translated into 100 proof. What is it with that number?

Color: Dark amber.
Fragrance: Orange and lemon, honey, vanilla and spices.
Taste notes: Full and fruity with honey, pepper and vanilla.

Zuidam Distillers was started in 1975 by Fred Van Zuidam. At that time, the distillery had only one small pot still and about 300 square meters to work on. After 10 years of grilling work, Zuidam cultivated a reputation for being Holland’s finest distillery, but things first really took off when Fred got his wife, Helene, to design the bottles. Today, Zuidam is still one of Holland’s most respected distilleries, with more than a thousand dishes in stock and 4 new copper-pot stills standing and shining on their 3600 square foot distillery.
