AMERICAN WINERY OF THE YEAR 2020 – WINE ENTHUSIAST! When Chardonnay from California shows itself at its best; refreshing and seductive with notes of kiwi and bananas. A delicious companion on a hot summer day but also a good choice on a winter day.
Good at:
Shellfish, chicken and turkey, fish – lean, aperitif
SEDUCTIVE AND AROMATIC
The overture to Michael David’s Chardonnay is tropical fruit with aromas of banana and kiwi. As the wine dances around on the palate, apricots and peaches also emerge, and in the pompous finale fine notes from the aging in oak casks are discernible.
Enjoy the wine with dishes with fish or light meat or simply by itself on a warm summer day.
Serving temperature: 10-12°C

“A LIGHTER EXPRESSION OF CHARDONNAY THAT INCORPORATES THE USE OF ML AND OAK IN A WAY THAT ENHANCES THE FRUITS. FIND NOTES OF WATER LILY, WET STONE, JUST-RIPE WHITE PEACH AND NECTARINE, LYCHEE AND ROSE PETAL ALONGSIDE A BALANCED ELEVATED ACIDITY AND A SOFT MOUTHFEEL.”
Manufacturing
Michael David calls their Chardonnay a fusion wine. The grapes are handpicked continuously throughout the ripening period. Three different Chardonnay wines are made from these grapes; from a crisp and fruity wine fermented and matured in stainless steel to a soft and rounder Chardonnay, which has received the best from French oak barrels. Before bottling, the wines are combined to form the perfect Chardonnay with the best characteristics from each wine.
