Character
Light yellow color with a green tint. Clean, youthful, fruity, aromatic- typical grape scent with hints of citrus, pear, gooseberry and blackcurrant leaves. Dry, very fresh, fruity taste with hints of lime, gooseberry, pear and blackcurrant leaves.

Manufacturing
The grape skins were allowed to macerate together with the must for 8-12 hours before they were pressed. The must was then transferred to stainless steel tanks for cold stabilization at 8-10°C for a couple of days before alcoholic fermentation started using cultured yeast.

Storage
After completion of fermentation, the wine is stored for a couple of weeks together with its lees.

Fits
As an apéritif or with fish and shellfish dishes. And feel free to try it with sour goat cheese.

The grapes for Les Fumées Blanches Sauvignon Blanc come from vineyards in the four regions of Languedoc, Gers, Tarn and Charentes.

François Lurton one of the biggest names in the wine world

François Lurton was born and raised in a castle in Bordeaux. However, he began his own success story as a flying winemaker in South America. Today, François Lurton is the man behind a series of successful wines from estates in Argentina, Chile, Spain and France. François is called the “white wine king” for his skillful handling of the sauvignon blanc grape, not least in the form of the hit Les Fumées Blanches but also as an orange wine and as a craft gin in the form of the celebrated Sorgin.

It all started in the early 1990s when François and his brother Jaques worked as flying winemakers together in Argentina. There they also acquired their first vineyards.
