le Bèrne Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2021 75 cl.

Toscana -Italy

About 90% of the grapes in Nobile are Sangiovese, with a small portion of Canaiolo Nero and Mammolo. The grapes are harvested after a precise selection when they are ripe. The wine is aged for two years in oak barrels and six months in the bottle. The result is a ruby red wine with a delicate and dry taste and a violet aroma. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano pairs wonderfully with dishes like roasts and Tuscan cuisine.

The vineyards are located 350 meters above sea level in the Cervognano area. The grapes are Sangiovese, and they are harvested in the second week of October. The wine undergoes extended skin contact and is fermented at a controlled temperature of a maximum of 30°C to enhance color and depth. After this, the wine is aged in oak barrels (60% in 25hl and 40% in small French barrels) for 2 years, followed by 6 months in the bottle.

LE BERNE

Le Berne spans 15 hectares in the Cervognano sub-region of Montepulciano. Six of those hectares are planted with vines. The soil contains stones and seashells. The vineyards are located 350 meters above sea level, which is an ideal height for producing structured red wines. The name Le Berne originates from the word “Verne” or “Verena,” meaning a hill. The winery’s history began in the 1960s when Egisto Natalini and his son Giuliano decided to open a family-run wine estate with their own vineyards. They continued until 1995, when Giuliano Natalini’s son Andrea took over, along with Paolo Vagaggini, who made significant improvements to the entire process and enhanced the estate’s viticulture methods. The primary grape cultivated in the vineyards is Sangiovese, locally known in Montepulciano as Prugnolo Gentile. Other typical varieties are Colorino and Mammolo.
