Adriatico Classic Roasted Almonds is an amaretto made exclusively from good ingredients. At the center of course are the delicious, roasted Italian almonds, and the taste is rounded off by a pinch of sea salt and a balanced sweetness. There are no artificial flavourings, apricot kernels or excessive amounts of sugar here – just pure and pure taste!
Colour: Dark amber.
Scent: Rich scent of roasted almonds, vanilla pods and cocoa.
Tasting notes: Full-bodied and with good sweetness, which, however, does not take over the fine, almost floral taste of almond, brown sugar, cinnamon and cocoa.
Serving suggestion: Enjoy it plain, possibly lightly chilled, after a good meal or try it in cocktails. We still swear by Jeffrey Morgenthaler’s version of an Amaretto Sour:
The ingredients are first shaken without ice to foam the egg whites, and then with ice to dilute and chill the drink. Served over fresh ice cubes with a twist of lemon zest.
Adriatico is a revolution in amaretto! We have waited a long time for a showdown with the slightly too sweet and artificial-tasting variant, which for many years has been glued to the shelves of the Danish wine merchants. Amaretto Adriatico is made entirely from natural ingredients, without added aromas. The almonds come from Puglia in southern Italy and are gently roasted before being macerated in spirit and distilled. A pinch of sea salt adds the finishing touch. This classic version is accompanied by a slightly lighter variant, an amaretto bianco, which is made from almond milk and has a lower alcohol percentage. Both versions can be enjoyed neat or unfolded in a multitude of cocktails, for which you can get inspiration here.
