Manufacturing

Made from Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grown in the heart of Valpolicella. The wine is made according to the Ripasso method. The grapes are harvested during September and October and vinified traditionally with destemming and maceration with the grape skins followed by very slow fermentation. The wine then ferments again with the mass from Amarone and then ages in wooden barrels for approx. one year.

About the manufacturer

A HISTORICAL VINGESUS – The history of the Montresor family goes back a long way and includes some interesting ancestors such as Count Claude de Montresor, who in the 17th century was a trusted advisor to the Duke of Orleans in France. In the mid-17th century, a branch of the dynasty moved to the Veneto region close to Lake Garda, known for its fertile lands. Here they found the perfect conditions to cultivate one of the family’s greatest passions: viticulture. In 1892, Giacomo Montresor founded the Cantine Giacomo Montresor.

Cantine Giacomo Montresor is a small Venetian pocket of time and is today a very recognized and respected wine house in Italy, which time and time again delivers critically acclaimed wines of very high quality.
