Ménard Pineau des Charentes – Blanc 75 cl. 17%

Aperitif de France

According to legend, Pineau des Charentes was created by mistake. During the wine harvest, a vintner from Charente named Pineau inadvertently emptied freshly pressed grape juice into a barrel that still contained Cognac. The cognac stopped the fermentation of the grape must, and within a few years the drink was transformed into a completely new taste direction. Pineau des Charentes was created.

This wine is soft and pleasant, but at the same time it has the strong Cognac character.

Supple but powerful, Cognac gold colour, lively and brilliant.
Discreet nose, in the lightness, flattering, draws in the pine.
Quite powerful, well-structured palate, citrus nuances, with fine notes of honey, sour sweets and quince marmalade for a simple and immediate pleasure.
Ugni Blanc grape variety 90%, Montils 5%, Semillon 5%.

Serve the wine at 8-10ºC as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to fruit desserts.

The Menard family’s 80 hectares of vineyards are all located in Grande Champagne Premier Cru de Cognac, and this is a major reason for Menard’s high quality. The quality of the Pineau depends on the quality of the Cognac. As the Cognac is a Grande Fine Champagne, it imparts maximum softness, finesse and aroma to the Pineau. Combined with the company’s choice of grapes, as well as aging in limousine oak barrels, you better understand Menard’s always appealing quality.
