The wine has a nice red color. It has a fruity and slightly spicy scent, delicate. The taste is rich and fruity with a touch of pepper and a soft and pleasant aftertaste.
It is a well-structured wine that, due to the packaging, should be drunk within the first year after the production year. It is based on 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Shiraz.
The grapes for this wine are grown in the Western Cape, which benefits from a healthy climate with cold and wet winters and warm to extremely hot summers. In summer, cool winds from both the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean blow across the Western Cape and have a cooling effect on the vineyards. In addition, careful canopy management ensures that the leaves of the vines shade the grapes so that they do not get too much direct sun.
The wine is produced by Darling Cellars, who believe that good wine starts in the vineyards. It is the vineyards that are Darling Cellars’ number one source of inspiration, and wine production is considered a craft and an art, where nature plays by far the biggest role.
