The Singleton of Glendullan is typically a soft and creamy whiskey – perhaps that is why it has been nicknamed The Silken Gown in this year’s Special Release from Diageo. Here you also get to experience Glendullan at full cask strength – and it’s certainly a nice acquaintance when it comes to this 14-year-old case. It is aged in something as unusual as casks that have contained white burgundy. Yum!
Colour: Light golden.
Aroma: Aromatic notes of apricot, peach, citrus and caramel.
Tasting notes: Toffee sweetness accompanies soft notes of stone fruit, pear and citrus.
Amber threads of silky caramel, rippling with layers of lush golden fruit.

Glistening gold, kissed by the gentle fig and citrus aromas of the coastal air, the stunning dress has an indulgent allure. Luminous and enchanting, it is the masterpiece of a silk atelier.

Tasting notes
Nose
A mild nose sensation, clean and crisp. The light top notes are green and fruity, suggesting freshly cut green apple, white grapes and a touch of pear, all combined in a juicy fruit salad and after a while supported by a golden, buttery hint of crème anglaise on a puff pastry base. There is a note of spun honey in the development. A drop of water enhances the freshness and fruitiness.
Palate
At natural strength, smooth in feel, with light, velvety layers of texture and a flavor that is toffee-sweet to boot, balanced by a splash of golden yellow fruit acidity and lightly spiced. Overall crisp and clear, but also richly rounded. A splash of water rounds out and integrates these flavors, bringing out the lovely smooth balance.
Exit
Of medium length, finishing spicy, with a nice smoothness. A splash of water calms the spice.
