On the occasion of Fanø Skibsrom’s founder Lars J. Schou’s upcoming 80th birthday, as a tribute we have made a new Fanø Skibsrom, which is seasoned and aged just as he would have wanted it. It is of course called the Captain.
It has been a long time coming and has aged a total of 5 years in oak casks. It has an alcohol percentage of 43% and the taste notes are complex and rich with notes of wood, tobacco and a little sweetness.
Distilled in Jamaica and subsequently refined on Fanø. The processing consists of a two-stage storage. First, the rum is aged with natural flavorings (including Fanø heather honey, sea buckthorn and Madagascar vanilla). It is then stored in port casks.
We have already bottled the first bottles. Our first batch/production is a total of 929 bottles.
