Clynelish is one of the regular members of Diageo’s annual Special Releases. In 2023, it is a 10-year-old whiskey that has been nicknamed The Jazz Crescendo. It is aged exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks (a good and classic choice!) and bottled at cask strength, which hits a very nice 57.5%.

Colour: Golden.
Scent: Beautiful notes of vanilla, caramel, black pepper and sea salt.
Tasting notes: Both sweet and spicy, with good power in the taste which, however, feels soft and round.

Serving suggestion: Enjoy it neat, preferably with a few drops of water if that’s your preference – it can take it!

Introducing Clynelish 10 Year Old Special Releases 2023 Single Malt Scotch Whiskey bottled at natural cask strength – The alluring rhythmic beat of a sweet honey bass anchors a richly composed melody. Gradually, from this sea of smooth harmonies, there comes a call to transcend scales. A solo breaks loose, its golden, shimmering notes rising to sublime heights in a haunting, captivating hymn to jazz. The honeyed flavors and smooth, waxy textures of Clynelish play the sweetest of tunes. Together with the fascinating solo wildcat on the bottle, they inspired our Malt Master to create a whiskey that expresses all the sweet and soulful richness of classic American jazz. Exclusively aged in ex-bourbon American Oak, this expression sings with notes of rich caramel and vanilla spice. Soft aromas on the nose start a mineral and maritime theme, then become sweeter and rounder, their golden melody anchored by an earthy bass note. The vanilla-sweet, rich and powerful taste becomes smooth and confident soon shaped by a hint of salt and a soaring peppery solo that reaches its smooth crescendo in the long, spicy finish.
