Tracking down premium casks of Scottish whisky has always been at the heart of Elixir Distillers. Since 2002, the independent bottler has been releasing these under the name The Single Malts of Scotland.

Located in a secluded bay in the north of the island, Bunnahabhain Distillery primarily produces unpeated Islay Single Malt – like the Bunnahabhain 2009/2022. This maritime single cask was drawn from a butt and bottled into a total of 498 bottles.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich and inviting with notes of salted caramel, dried apricots, vanilla pods, and a hint of sea spray. Subtle spices emerge, complemented by roasted almonds and honey.

Palate: Creamy and well-balanced. Flavors of toffee, orange zest, and poached pears combine with delicate oak spice and a touch of milk chocolate. A maritime influence lingers with a gentle saline character.

Finish: Long and warming. Notes of sweet malt, cinnamon, and toasted nuts fade into hints of coastal minerality and lingering dried fruit.
