Bellamy’s Reserve Rum – 2012 Jamaica Hampden 12 Years Single Cask 70 cl. 59,6%
Jamaican Premium Aged Rum
Jamaica is known for its tropical climate with high temperatures year-round and high humidity, creating ideal conditions for rum production. Hampden Estate is located in the Trelawny region, renowned for its rich and complex rum styles. The volcanic soil is mineral-rich and drains rainwater efficiently, providing sugarcane with optimal growing conditions. The combination of the warm, humid climate and the nutrient-rich soil results in high-quality sugarcane with intense sweetness, forming the foundation of this powerful and aromatic rum.
This rum was distilled in 2012 at Hampden Distillery using only traditional pot stills, known for enhancing the ester-rich and complex aromas for which Hampden is famous. After distillation, the rum was aged for a full 12 years in a single cask, an unusually long time in the tropical climate, where maturation happens quickly and intensely.
Bellamy’s Reserve 2012 Jamaica Hampden 12-Year-Old presents an explosion of classic Jamaican aromas. The nose is filled with overripe bananas, pineapple, tart apples, and hints of lime. On the palate, it is powerful and oily, with distinct notes of tropical fruit, green olives, licorice, vanilla, and a hint of smoke and spices from the cask aging. The finish is long, intense, and balanced, with a lingering sweetness and dryness that make it an exceptional experience for any rum enthusiast.
