Rome from Colombia!

Now Colombia is not a country we, at our latitudes, connect with Rome production. We are thinking much more on drugs and bandwood? But nevertheless, Colombia has a tradition of Rome production.

3. Generation of the family behind the distillery – Destilería Colombiana – which produces Dictador (which is a trade name) decided to launch Dictador on the world market in 2009.

Søren Nørgaard, Mac Y: “We knew Rome from Colombia when we made the people from the company behind Dictador in 2009. We were very critical when the” normal “Rome style in Colombia is a very sweet Rome – almost a liqueur. It was Not what we were looking for. But to our surprise there was a good complexity in these Rome. They are still for the sweet side, but very easy to drink. ”

A little story …

In 1751, Severo Arangoy Ferro arrives at Cartagena de Indiasto and brings control and increased trade between American Spanish colonies and Spain.

His strength and power gave him the name “Dictador”. He was thrilled with many things in the new world – and the local Rome was also of his interest. He decides to set (also) to sit on Rome production in the area, so far his power reached. A true Dictador.

A descendant – Don Julio Arangoy Parra – then established Destilería Colombiana in 1913. This distillery becomes as selected as a supplier of the Rictador of a Polish company, which has sought the Rome market for this particular Rome style.
