TASTE NOTE
Stoli Vanil is an elegant vanilla vodka with velvety aromas of fresh vanilla powder, marsan cream and chocolate. In the taste, roasted corn and vanilla beans come together with white pepper and spicy notes. In the beginning, vanilla and sweet elements such as crackers and vanilla caramel dominate, but soon a more balanced style emerges with chocolate and cocoa beans. There’s also a ton of popcorn, straw and dried herbs.
SHORT FACTS
Flavored vodka was first launched in 1986. The idea was Swedish and was developed by Absolut, the first was “Pepper” which was flavored with jalapeño and paprika. Vanilla vodka was introduced in the early 2000s and is now a popular type of vodka found in most producers’ portfolios. The main reason why vanilla vodka has become popular is that it works great in many types of cocktails and drinks.
Stolis Vodka is mainly produced at the Latvian distillery Latvijas Balzams in Riga, which was built on behalf of the Tsar in 1900. It is a magnificent distillery that produces most of the spirits made in the Baltics. Stoli is a triple-distilled vodka that is filtered through quartz sand and activated birch charcoal. By tradition, Russian vodka is not purified as carefully as Stoli, which gives Stoli a more elegant character.
Stoli’s flavored vodkas are based on pure Stoli Vodka. They also receive a small addition of American beet sugar and are then flavored with exclusively natural ingredients. No artificial substances are ever used. Stoli Vanil is made, like all Stoli flavored vodkas, through an infusion process where the flavors are integrated into the spirit before it is filtered. The vanilla used is pure vanilla beans from Madagascar.

Stoli Vodka, a pure and classic vodka from Latvia, has long been a symbol of progress and is one of the world’s most popular vodkas. Originally developed in 1938, its original recipe has gained wide popularity for its distinctive quality. In 1954, a new chapter began for the brand when production moved to the historic Latvijas Balzams in Riga, the capital of Latvia, where Stoli is still bottled today.
In 1958, the brand won its first gold medal for quality and taste at the World Exhibition in Brussels, only 20 years after its launch. In the 1960s, Stoli became one of the pioneers in the flavored vodka category globally, and in the 1970s, it was one of the first premium vodkas to be imported into the United States.
