A West Jutland whiskey demon with Spanish blood in his veins. Stauning El Clásico is a matured rye whiskey that is subsequently aged in vermouth casks.
Rye whiskey and sweet vermouth have always played perfectly together in the iconic cocktail Manhattan. We wanted to frame this interaction in our rye whiskey. So we gave the mature whiskey a finish in vermouth casks, and the experiment was more than successful: a warm-blooded whiskey with a deep, amber-gold color and a sweet aftertaste with a bitter hint of herbs. Perfect for an exclusive cocktail or enjoyed neat in the glass.
The result is a warm and intense taste of freshly harvested grain with a spicy and bittersweet aftertaste. A classic is born.
HONOR TO KNOW
Vermouth contains the plant wormwood and got its name from the English word for wormwood: “wormwood”
Throughout history, the plant wormwood is often associated with evil and misfortune, but is also known for its tasty bitterness and medicinal properties – in the right quantities.
The demon on the bottle’s label is half bull, half demon and designed by the tattoo artist, Thit Hansgaard, @thithittattoo.

FRAGRANCE
The nose is filled with the scent of apples, oranges, ripe plums, warm spices, cinnamon and burnt caramel.

The warm aftertaste with bittersweet notes of vermouth lingers in the body for a long time.

Aged for 3-4 years in Virgin American Oak & then at least 6 months in sweet Spanish vermouth casks
