SMOKESTACK is a richly peated (blended) malt from premium casks from Islay and the Highlands, each carefully selected for their smoky flavour.
With around 30 ppm phenol, this dram hits like a runaway train. Wait for the ride………
Tasting notes:
Nose: Vanilla and sweet peat smoke. Ginger and citrus notes. A touch of iodine.
Taste: Strong dry smoke with spicy sweetness. Light oiliness with sweet peat, ginger, lemon and honey.
Finish: Long and drying. Late oils and more smoke.
Behind the Smokestack is The Vintage Malt Whiskey Co., which has become famous for its Finlaggan Single Malt Whiskey bottlings alone. Heavily Peated is on the label, indicating a high proportion of phenols. And this blend actually has 30ppm, which is close to a typical Islay. This bottling consists not only of island products, but also Highland malt is in the bottle. The edition is sold in small batches of 4,200 bottles each.
