Becker Nature is a package that showcases the most vibrant and low-intervention side of Domaine Jean Becker in Alsace. Here, you get three different expressions from the same producer: an energetic and citrus-driven Riesling, a softer and more generous Pinot Blanc, and a juicy, cool-climate Pinot Noir. Together, they create a package that feels pure, natural, and highly food-friendly, while each bottle still keeps its own clear personality.
These three wines were selected because they show the breadth of Becker’s natural wine expression. Riesling Hagenschlauf Nature stands for energy, freshness, and precision. Pinot Blanc Nature stands for open fruit, rounder texture, and immediate charm. Pinot Noir Nature stands for juicy red fruit, lightness, and a more gastronomic red wine expression. The package therefore works both as an introduction to Becker and as a clear story of how the same producer can interpret natural wine in three different directions.
How it is made
Domaine Jean Becker works organically and with a clearly alive, low-intervention philosophy, and this Riesling is made entirely without added sulfur. In Becker’s own natural wine range, the Riesling vinification is also based on manual harvesting, sorting in the vineyard, skin contact to extract aromas and a little tannin, pressing before alcoholic fermentation has fully finished, malolactic conversion, and unfiltered bottling. For Hagenschlauf Nature, this means a wine designed to feel free, open, and direct in expression.
How it tastes
This is a white natural wine with real tension and clean energy. The nose leans toward apple, lemongrass, mandarin, citrus, and fresh grapes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, dry, and fresh, with green apples, lime, grapefruit, and a straight, citrus-driven finish that makes the wine especially appetizing.
What it pairs with
Riesling Hagenschlauf Nature works especially well with fish, seafood, poultry, and other dishes where you want freshness and nerve rather than weight. It also performs beautifully with classic Alsatian and salty dishes, where the acidity can cut through and lift the food.
How it is made
With Pinot Noir Nature, Becker shows its red natural wine style: organically farmed and made with as little intervention as possible. In the producer’s own vinification for this cuvée, the harvest is manual with sorting in the vineyard, the grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, the wine macerates with daily pump-overs, around ten percent saignée is used to give more concentration, and it is then aged for nine months in oak barrels. The result is a red natural wine that keeps its juiciness while also gaining structure and depth.
How it tastes
This is the most immediately charming red wine in the package. The nose moves between strawberry, cherry, red currant, and forest floor. On the palate, it is fresh and juicy, with plenty of red berries, lively acidity, and a style that feels light on its feet while still remaining serious. The subtle oak note adds more structure than weight.
What it pairs with
Pinot Noir Nature is made to be served lightly chilled and works very well with white meats, especially roast chicken. It is also a wine that performs beautifully when you want a red wine for food without becoming heavy or dominating.
How it is made
Pinot Blanc Nature is made entirely without added sulfur, which gives the wine its open and juicy character. In Becker’s own natural wine range, the Pinot Blanc vinification is based on manual harvesting, sorting in the vineyard, skin contact to extract aromas and light structure, pressing before fermentation is fully complete, malolactic conversion, and unfiltered bottling. This creates a white natural wine that feels softer and rounder than the Riesling, while still staying fresh and lively.
How it tastes
This is the most approachable bottle in the package. The nose shows apple, pear, citrus, lime, a touch of peach, white flowers, and fresh grapes. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, dry, and fresh, with apple, pear, stone fruit, and almost a sense of freshly pressed grape juice, which makes the expression generous and very easy to enjoy.
What it pairs with
Pinot Blanc Nature works best with fish and poultry, where its softer acidity and rounder texture can play alongside the food rather than over it. It is the most approachable white wine in the package, and for that reason also the one that often works most broadly at the table.
Becker Nature is three natural wines with three different roles: one for freshness, one for fruit, and one for juicy red elegance. It is a package for anyone who wants to discover how pure, expressive, and food-friendly Becker’s natural wine style can be, without losing either origin or grape character.
