Single Harvest White Porto – The Family’s Choice
Sequeirinha is the result of the best wines from Quinta de Maroccos, one of the oldest wineries in the Douro Valley. Located on the left bank of the river, Quinta de Marrocos has been the family home for several generations. The fields are high (up to 180 meters) and on steep south-facing slopes, where the warm days and cool nights by the river provide perfect growing conditions. Therefore, all work in the fields is done manually, as it has been for many generations. The pressing is done by hand or rather with “foot power”.
The old vines, some of which are over 100 years old, give a low yield and thus a more concentrated wine.
Has won many awards all over the world – e.g. 92 points and silver medal in Decanter for 10 years tawny.
A top product at fixed low prices!
This white single vintage port is aged in cask for 12 years.
Main grapes used: Fernão Pires, Gouveio, Malvasia e Rabigato
Golden straw color with rich aromas of orange blossom and dried fruit and light notes of honey and toast from barrel ageing. In the mouth it reminds of dried fruit, crystallized orange peel, honey, apricot, tangerine and spices. Its fresh acidity and elegant aftertaste invite company with almond or apple pies and fruity desserts.
The taste is fresher, fuller and persistent, and more elegant than a red tawny of the same age.
With the fresh acidity, it is also fantastic with everything from smoked salmon, seafood and sushi. Or if you are more into desserts, this port wine is perfect with fresh fruit, cake with strawberries, lemon meringue, peaches in cream or strawberries coated with white chocolate.
Can be stored or drunk now at 8/10°C.
