The single malt typically produced at this famous Hokkaido distillery has a peaty, smoky character that could easily be mistaken for one of its Scottish counterparts on the Isle of Islay. But here, in an abrupt break with tradition, we offer you the chance to discover Yoichi in a new – unported – light. This version guides us down richly malted, fruity and spicy paths that evoke both the Lowland and Speyside regions of Scotland.
The whiskey has a light golden colour.
A refined and balanced nose. Stays close to its malted grain base. First, the nose reveals aromas of fruit and acie honey. It becomes more and more exotic and then develops a noble spicy and herbal register. Little by little, medicinal notes delicately cover the aromatic palette.
Citrus fruits initially provide a lot of energy for the first impression in the mouth. This lively start is then followed by a beautiful vanilla and almost toasty sequence, the richness of which highlights the incredible balance between sweet and savory flavors. An extremely appetizing bitterness completes the picture.
As a first impression on the nose, there is a focus on malt grain at the start of the finish. Aniseed, vaginal and creamy flavors gradually spread around the palate.
