As with all our single malts, this peated Ledaig is non-chill filtered and natural in colour. Bottled at 46.3% and produced using peated (30-40 ppm) concert barley.
Color:
Light lemon gold.
Nose:
Sweet hydrogen smokiness with distinct island character and playful notes suggesting mild antiseptic, creosote, wax polish, mint chocolate and seaside flowers. Soft peat, gentle smoke.
Palate:
Enticingly sweet, medicinal flavors infused with enticing sparks of spicy pepper and dried fruit with rich peat smoke and a velvety vanilla and malty creaminess.
Exit:
A wonderful union of sublimely spicy white pepper, the vibrant sweetness of licorice and a kick of cloves with an exquisite lingering saltiness.
Peaty whiskey from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, named after a previous incarnation of the distillery. Maritime and smoky, this rivals some of the Islay drams for power, and the 10-year-old balances the intensity of youth with rounded, well-aged spirit.
