Laphroaig 10 Years Cask Strength Batch 17 is a bold, unfiltered expression of Islay’s iconic single malt whisky. Aged for over a decade in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, it is bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.3% ABV. This release captures the essence of Laphroaig – unapologetically smoky, medicinal, and maritime in character.

The whisky is barrier-filtered (to remove cask particles) but not chill-filtered, allowing all natural oils and flavours to remain. On the nose, you’ll find intense peat smoke, coastal iodine, heather, vanilla, and hints of grilled citrus. The palate is rich and oily, with notes of baked apple, toffee, saline seaweed, herbal smoke, and menthol freshness. The finish is long and lingering, delivering layers of leather, black pepper, sweet smoke, and dry herbs.

Batch 17 exemplifies Laphroaig’s untamed spirit – raw and complex, yet perfectly balanced. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open up the deep, smoky layers.
