Kopkes Ruby is a youthful and berry-influenced port wine, which works impeccably as an accompaniment to blue cheese, chocolate, as the main ingredient in a good port wine sauce or as an aperitif.
The vinification takes place in the Douro Valley on Kopkes Quinta de São Luiz on the south bank of the Douro River, a few km from Pinhão. Here, traditions, research and one of Portugal’s most modern vinification centers go hand in hand to create the ideal conditions for the production of quality port wine.
Kopke Fine Ruby Port is the basic port wine, made from selected blends from several different lots in the Douro Superior and Cima Corgo.
Kopke Ruby has a dense, youthful color and aroma and taste, dominated by fruity shades of blueberries, elderberries and cocoa. The sweetness is balanced by acid and alcohol, so the wine appears balanced despite the good 100 grams of residual sugar / liter.
We recommend enjoying the wine somewhat below room temperature; 14-17 ° seems appropriate. Remember to use a good white wine glass for the purpose; shot glasses and other wine crimes are not enough!
