Jack Daniel’s Rye 70 cl. 45%

Tennessee Straight Rye Whiskey

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye combines the distinct flavor of rye and the Jack Daniel Distillery’s time-honored charcoal mellowing process. The result is a bold, spicy rye whiskey that’s sippin’ smooth. We’ve learned a thing or two in the last 150 years and it’s time we take what we know as distillers and work to perfect rye. That was our aim when we developed our unique grain bill of 70% rye. We’ve brought forward the spice of rye, while leaving room for the complexity and depth of the corn and malted barley. And because it is charcoal mellowed and aged in new, white oak barrels, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye has the Jack character and smooth finish that does not overpower.

Mr. Jack Daniel established his distillery in 1866, making it America’s oldest registered distillery. He built his distillery in the little town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, in the Cave Spring Hollow because of the abundance of cool, iron-free spring water that was perfect for making his whiskey. We still make our whiskey here today. Jack Daniel’s is crafted according to all of bourbon’s quality standards but undergoes the extra step of mellowing drop by drop through 10 feet of hard sugar maple charcoal. Mellowing the whiskey is a time-consuming and costly extra step, but it gives Jack Daniel’s its smooth character and distinctive taste. It makes Jack Daniel’s a Tennessee Whiskey and not bourbon. After mellowing, Jack Daniel’s whiskey is matured in new, charred American white oak barrels, from which the whiskey draws its spicy oak notes and its rich, golden color.
