Glen Scotia – 12 Years Icons of Campbeltown Release No.3 The Culver 70 cl. 51,7%
Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The third release in Glen Scotia’s acclaimed Icons of Campbeltown series is a 12-year-old single malt whisky that captures the soul and tradition of the legendary whisky town of Campbeltown. The series celebrates the town’s history, the people behind the distillery, and the myths that surround it. Release No. 3, named The Wulver, draws inspiration from an old Scottish legend of a kind-hearted wolf-man who embodies generosity and compassion — values that Glen Scotia believes reflect the spirit of the Campbeltown community.
Unpeated and matured for 12 years, the whisky has spent most of its life in American bourbon casks before being finished for nine months in carefully selected Tawny Port casks. This final maturation adds depth and a beautiful harmony between fruity sweetness and spiced oak.
On the nose, it’s rich and expressive with notes of juicy forest berries, caramelized nuts, red apple, and smooth toffee. The palate unfolds with layers of dried figs, orange peel, and soft praline, leading into a balanced interplay of sweetness, fruit, and gentle spice. The finish is long, rounded, and elegant — with hints of dark chocolate, dried fruits, vanilla, subtle oak, and a delicate touch of sea salt reminiscent of Campbeltown’s maritime character.
Bottled at 51.7% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, this expression preserves its full depth and authenticity. The result is a bold yet beautifully balanced dram that both honours the past and showcases Glen Scotia’s craftsmanship today.
