Glen Elgin 13 Years 2008 SMOS Reserve Cask Parcel NO.8 70 cl. 48%

Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Glen Elgin Parcel No.8 is an extremely pleasant 13-year-old Scotch single malt whiskey that was distilled in 2008. It comes from the famous Glen Elgin distillery, which is located in the Speyside region.

Subsequently, it was filled in 8 unknown barrels, where it matured for an extremely long 13 years. Thanks to the barrels, it acquired a charming fruity aroma full of honey-herbal notes. Finally, it was bottled in 2022 with an alcohol content of 48%. The angels’ share 15.2%.

Only a limited number of pieces were produced! Specially selected by Head Blender Oliver Chilton. Without added dyes and cold filtration. The bottle is housed in a brown minimalist gift box.

Colour: orange with golden-brown highlights
Aroma: honey, pastry, flowers, apples, herbs, grass, olives
Taste: balanced, coffee, peat, smoke, malt, fruit
Finish: long, bitter-sweet, warm, wood, nuts

The blender and bottling company Elixir Distillers was founded by the two brothers Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh, who are also behind the shop The Whiskey Exchange. They use their extensive experience from virtually every nook and cranny of the spirit world to fuse traditional craftsmanship with an insatiable hunger to experiment and innovate. The main focus is definitely on Scotch whisky, but also Japanese, Irish and American whiskey as well as tequila and rum have found their way into Elixir Distillers’ beautifully designed bottles. Among the most notable brands we find Elements of Islay, Port Askaig, Single Malts of Scotland and Black Tot.

Originally the company was called Specialty Drinks, and the name only changed to Elixir Distillers in 2017 – but if the two brothers blend and bottle whiskey, where does the “Distiller” part come in? Well, in 2018 they announced plans to build a new distillery on Islay’s south coast. The future looks bright for fans of smoke and peat!
