Single Malt Japanese Whisky

Chichibu LMDW New Vibrations 2015 Cask #12508 is a Japanese single malt whiskey from Chichibu. The New Vibrations Collection from La Maison du Whiskey contains four single cask bottlings from the Chichibu distillery, made with different barley varieties and cask types. The nature-inspired labels in the New Vibrations Collection have been created by award-winning Japanese artist and graphic designer Katsumi Komagata, known for her vibrant paper crafts. Chichibu LMDW New Vibrations 2015 Cask #12508 was distilled in 2015 and matured in a cask that previously contained Koshu, a Japanese white wine. The single malt was bottled in 2023 at 62.8%. Only 274 bottles have been released.

The official tasting notes describe a lively and distinguished nose with a hint of pepper, heat, lemon and vanilla. On the palate it is full and intense with a beautiful chocolate and malt bitterness followed by delicate floral and exotic fruit notes. The finish is long and rich, boasting concentrated flavors of fruit, spice and honey, with hints of medicinal, creamy and rustic elements. The dense aftertaste reveals hints of licorice and noble spices.
