About the Product
Caisteal Chamuis Heavily Peated Blended Malt Whiskey is a classic Iceland malt whisky. Powerful and smoky, but with an accessibility that it has gained through its double barrel aging. A pretty good introduction to smoked whisky.

A whiskey with character – blended on a base of selected single malt whiskies, all of which come from the Scottish islands. The various single malts that make up this whiskey were first aged in refill and first-fill hogshead casks of American oak. Next, they were blended, and after blending they were aged in 200 liter fresh bourbon barrels.

Caisteal Chamuis is released non-chill filtered, without added color and at 46% alcohol.

Tasting notes
The second aging period and the mixture of different single malts have resulted in a deeper layer in the taste experience. In the scent you will find aromas of fresh, fragrant oak, as well as herbal peat smoke notes.

In the taste, in addition to the classic smoky whiskey notes of campfire and sea salt, you will also find a touch of sweetness and vanilla, which eventually turns into a subdued aftertaste of spicy oak notes

Caisteal Chamois Whisky
This classic Island Style Blended Malt Whiskey is named after Caisteal Chamuis (also known as ‘Castle Camus’) – an ancient castle ruin on the Isle of Skye.

The release is a tribute to the traditions and culture of the Hebrides, and is also made as a (successful) experiment in taking the classic Iceland whisky, with its characteristic taste of salt and peat smoke – and giving it a milder and more accessible expression. This makes it, among other things, suitable for newcomers who are interested in peated whisky.
