This exclusive single malt from the Speyside distillery Auchroisk has been bottled by Signatory Vintage as part of their prestigious Symington’s Choice Cask Strength Collection. Distilled in September 2008, it has matured for 16 years in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead. The result is a whisky of great depth and character, bottled in 2025 at its natural cask strength of 57.9 %, with no chill-filtration and no added colour. Only 339 bottles were released, making this a very rare and highly sought-after expression.
The nose is rich and intense, showing clear PX influence – dried fruits, raisins, dates, and deep sweetness supported by subtle spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, where sherry sweetness and maltiness meet flavours of figs, caramel, dark chocolate, and toffee, elegantly balanced by oaky spice. The finish is long, warming, and silky, with lingering notes of sherry-soaked fruitcake, gentle tannins, and rounded oak character that stays on the palate.
