This year, Blossa vintage mulled wine celebrates 20 years by traveling home and being inspired by Gamla Stan, the place where the very first Blossa bottle was bottled over 100 years ago. Blossa 23 is a white mulled wine with a taste of fresh raspberries and floral hops and a tribute to Blossa’s rich craft history. Raspberries add a playful fruitiness to Blossa 23, whose sweetness is balanced by hops, which become extra clear in the aftertaste. The notes of the hops are captured particularly well by the cloves from the mulled spices, which together offer an exciting combination. Unique for the anniversary is that Blossa is also launching a long-awaited alcohol-free vintage mulled wine. Both bottles literally light up in the winter darkness. Turn off the lights, and you’ll see!
Production
All mulled wine from Blossa is based on the same basic recipe, with a uniquely developed spice mixture that is aged for months before each Christmas season and on wine from carefully selected European vineyards.
Fits
The mulled wine can be served both hot and cold, although Chief blender Åsa Orsvärn recommends that all white mulled wine be served cold. Feel free to take a domed glass and fill with frozen raspberries instead of ice cubes. For the mulled mulled wine, it is recommended to serve biscuits, raspberry or blackberry jam and a good piece of goat’s cheese.
nice to know
Twenty years ago, Blossa launched its first vintage mulled wine as a modern interpretation of Blossa’s craft traditions. Since then, they have traveled the world to find new flavor combinations and every year the bottles also get a new unique design, which has made them a sought-after collector’s item. In recent years Blossa has visited countries such as Hawaii, Italy and India, but this year Sweden is the source of inspiration.
