Banyuls La Bergerie des Abeilles 2020 AOP 75 CL

The Parcé family, which owns Domaine de la Rectorie, can probably best be described as the French counterpart to the Danish wine family Vinding-Diers. At Rectorie, it is a wine grower, a pianist and a photographer who have joined forces to continue the vineyard that their father founded more than a hundred years ago. The plots are located with a multitude of different exposures facing the sea on slopes that only see their equal in the Douro valley and the Mosel. The many different locations provide just as many different types of soil, amount of sunlight, temperature and wine conditions. Where the terroir in Burgundy changes from field to field, here the change happens meter by meter.
Pierre Parcé welcomes you when you visit the estate. Actually, like his brothers, he is artistically trained, so when he is not receiving guests, he is usually out photographing in the vineyards. The domain is not large. 24 hectares. However, it is divided into as many as 30 different parcels, spread over the whole of Banyuls. The vines are grown under extreme conditions on very high and inaccessible terraces.
