Balvenie 12 Years American Oak 70 CL 43%

Speyside Scotch Single Malt Whisky

Apprentice Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie wanted to produce an even more fruity and sweet balvenie and got the bright idea to import Virgin Oak dishes from Kentucky. After darkening them at The Balvenie Cooperage, they were filled with the balvents stored on Ex-Bourbon dishes. The result is a lovely complex whiskey with notes of candied fruit, coconut and delicately vanilla.

Fragrance: Luxurious malt with sweet fudge followed by aromas of citrus, oak and vanilla with layers of spicy self-cousins of ginger and cinnamon.

Taste: candied orange and lemon peel, vanillhetoffee and cream caramel, layers of flower honing, melted brown carinine and oak bunks at the end.

Finish: rich and malted with mild waves of eg vanilla and subtle spices.

The Balvenie Distillery.
The Balvenie Distillery offers a variety of single malt whiskeys manufactured by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE. Every expression is unique, but all whiskeys are rich, luxurious smooth and supported by a distinctive, honey-like character.

The history of the distiller starts in 1892, when William Grant establishes the distillery in the abandoned balfy New House. May 1, 1893 begins the distillery to produce whiskey. William Grant goes away in 1923, and his son, John, takes over and expands the distillery.

In 1962, David C. Stewart MBE is employed in William Grant & Sons at the age of 17. In 1974, he is appointed Malt Master, the fourth in the history of the distillery. He starts experimenting with fadlagring in 1983. He stores whiskey on two different types of wood after each other. Today, this method is very widespread and called “Finishing”.
