Arnaud de Villeneuve Ambré Collection Rivesaltes 1980 75 cl. 16%
Vintage Rivesaltes – France
Arnaud de Villeneuve Rivesaltes Ambré 1980 is a rare and elegant vin doux naturel from Roussillon in southern France. This vintage wine is made from a blend of Grenache gris, Grenache noir, and Macabeu, and has been aged in oak barrels since 1980, resulting in deep complexity and a rich flavor profile.
The wine shows a beautiful amber color with mahogany hues on the rim. On the nose, it offers warm and intense aromas of dried fruit, chocolate, prunes, and bourbon vanilla, accompanied by a light spiced and oxidative character. The palate is full-bodied and well-balanced, with classic rancio notes and a long, silky finish marked by cocoa and light caramel.
This wine is an excellent match for chocolate desserts, crème brûlée, or simply as a contemplative glass to enjoy with good company. Serve slightly chilled, around 10°C, to best reveal its nuances and depth.
Arnaud de Villeneuve is a historic cooperative located in the town of Rivesaltes, known for some of the oldest solera-aged wines in the region. Only 1,130 bottles were produced of this unique vintage, making it a sought-after collector’s item and a memorable addition to any wine collection.
