Amahagan World Malt Edition No.5 Sherry Wood Finish 70 CL 47%

Nagahama Distillery – Japan

Nagahama Distillery was founded in 2016 and is the smallest distillery in Japan. It is located on the shores of Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan. This is also called “Mother Lake”. The amount of water in the lake dampens the climate, which is very good for the maturation of the whisky. The Amahagan blended whiskeys take their name directly from the Nagahama distillery. Since the word “Nagahama” means “Amahagan” upp och ner.

Amahagan World Malt Whiskey Edition No.5 is the fifth blended whiskey in this series. The carefully selected whiskey, which comes from abroad, is mixed with fine Nagahama Newmake and matured in the climate of Fjärran Östern. The sharp difference in temperature creates a special type of ripening. That’s why the series is called World Malts. The production takes place in Japan’s minsta pannor. Distillation is done in a still called “arabic”, which follows an Arabic appearance. This whiskey gets a sherry cask finish at the end.
