The Secretary Bird – Sauvignon Blanc 75 CL

Western Cape South Africa

The “Secretary Bird” is excellent value for money and represents South Africa’s wild wildlife in the best possible way, here perhaps in a less “wild” version.

Winemaker Robin Naylor in the Western Cape, while inspecting the vineyards, found a secretary bird wandering between the vines and decided that the wine from these juice-stressed grapes should be called “Secretary Bird”.

The grapes from this coastal area, with the positive influence and cooling of the sea, are harvested early in the morning and brought immediately afterwards to the winery for pressing and fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Stores after fermentation unfiltered until bottling, for optimal concentration of the aroma substances.

Amazingly intense and super-aromatic sauvignon blanc with a great aroma of grass, elderberry, citrus and exotic fruit.

Dry, crisp and fresh, it is best enjoyed at approx. 8°.
