Volata is a series of vermouths produced at an ancient family-owned distillery in Appiano, South Tyrol. In fact, the distillery has a license to distill, which was issued in the time of the Habsburg princess Maria Theresa! Whether the Queen of Bohemia herself has enjoyed a dry vermouth like the one we have here – yes, we don’t think there can be any doubt about that! It is a royal mixture of a large number of local herbs and exotic spices, infused in local wines and enhanced with spirits. Exactly the kind that regents cannot stand for. And it’s organic!
Colour: Golden.
Scent: Exciting, deep and spicy scent.
Tasting notes: The taste of the vermouth is fresh, fruity and dry, but also not without a tiny touch of sweetness.
Serving suggestions: It tastes so good that we almost prefer to enjoy it “clean” – over ice with a slice of orange or lemon. But it’s also great in drinks and cocktails, and would probably be an upgrade in most people’s martinis.
