Torricino “I Classici” Greco di Tufo DOCG (75 cl) is a classic, terroir-driven white wine from Tufo in Irpinia (Campania)—one of Italy’s most exciting areas for mineral, food-friendly whites. Made from 100% Greco di Tufo, it’s Torricino’s clean, signature “house Greco”: fresh, structured, and defined by the appellation’s hallmark saline, stony minerality.
The producer
Azienda Agricola Torricino is a family-owned estate in Tufo, tied to the Di Marzo family, with deep roots in the area. The modern direction is led by Stefano Di Marzo, with a clear focus on careful selection in the vineyard and a precise, transparent cellar style—aimed at letting both grape and place speak clearly.
How it’s made
The grapes undergo a short cold maceration (for added aroma and structure) before gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at cool temperatures, followed by around 4 months on the fine lees in tank to build texture, complexity, and length—while keeping the wine’s fresh energy intact.
Flavour profile
Colour: straw yellow with a light golden hue.
Nose: citrus and grapefruit up front, moving into yellow peach and apricot, with hints of almond and a clear mineral note that can feel like flint/wet stone.
Palate: dry, bright, and distinctly “saline,” with intense citrus fruit, good concentration, and a structured grip. The finish is clean and long, driven by pronounced sapid/mineral character, making it highly food-friendly.
Serving & food pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C in a slightly larger white-wine glass. Excellent with seafood, grilled fish, octopus, pasta with lemon/herbs, light soups—and also a great match for aged cheeses, where the acidity and salinity cut through beautifully.
