Few wine regions combine power, elegance and ageing potential as naturally as Ribera del Duero. At high altitude, where hot summers meet cold winters and dramatic shifts between day and night temperatures, the Tempranillo grape develops a unique combination of dark fruit, firm structure and vibrant freshness. The result is wines with deep colour, concentration, spice and a style that feels both powerful and polished.
This selection brings together six different expressions of Ribera del Duero – from classic, generous Crianza to more serious, deep and terroir-driven interpretations. These are wines with dark fruit, oak character, freshness and structure, but also with distinct personalities of their own. It is a case for anyone who wants to discover why Ribera del Duero is considered one of Spain’s most impressive red wine regions.
A classic and generous Ribera del Duero with dark, ripe fruit and beautifully integrated oak notes. The nose and palate offer blueberry, blackberry, dark cherry, vanilla, balsamic nuances, smoke and a touch of espresso. The wine is full-bodied yet smooth, with supple tannins and a lightly toasted oak character that adds extra depth. It pairs very well with grilled beef, lamb, slow-cooked dishes and other rich meat-based meals. The wine is made from 100% Tempranillo, hand-harvested and aged in both French and American oak after fermentation.
Nabal Crianza is a wine with both weight and precision. Ripe red and dark fruit are combined with sweet spice, anise and carefully balanced oak notes. The palate is powerful and expressive, yet remains refined and balanced, with a fine interplay between fruit, acidity and oak, followed by a long and persistent finish. It is an excellent choice for red meat, game, duck, charcuterie and mature cheeses. The wine is produced from Tempranillo grown on old vines in Ribera del Duero and spends extended time in oak, adding complexity and structure.
AALTO is one of Ribera del Duero’s most iconic modern expressions – intense without being heavy, concentrated without losing elegance. In the glass, it shows both red and dark fruit, subtle spice and discreet oak influence, while the palate is silky, powerful and impressively precise. The wine opens with freshness and elegance, then builds on the palate with great depth and a long, nuanced finish. It is a superb match for grilled beef, lamb, game and rustic dishes with plenty of flavour. The wine is produced from Tinto Fino sourced from old vines in selected parts of Ribera del Duero and aged for an extended period in oak barrels.
Áster is a more structured and terroir-driven Ribera del Duero with a strong sense of identity. The nose reveals black fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, sweet spices, herbs and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet polished, with a smooth core of fruit, fresh acidity and a finish where the region’s mineral character comes through clearly. It pairs beautifully with lamb, game birds, rice dishes, stews and mature cheeses. The wine is made from Tinta del País grown in estate vineyards and vinified with a focus on precision, structure and balance.
This is the classic, harmonious side of Ribera del Duero – a wine where dark fruit, balance and elegance take centre stage. The style is juicy and inviting, with notes of black berries, cherry, plum, spice, liquorice and finely integrated oak. The palate is generous yet controlled, with excellent structure and an overall expression that makes the wine highly appealing and easy to enjoy. It pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, lamb, hearty meat dishes and flavourful dinners where the wine can play a leading role without overpowering the meal. The wine is made from Tempranillo grown in selected vineyards and aged in French oak for added finesse and depth.
Valdepila de Milénico is the most personal and small-scale wine in the case – an organic Ribera del Duero with a strong high-altitude character and natural energy. The wine has an intense dark cherry colour and offers aromas of ripe black fruit, liquorice, spice, tobacco and a lightly rustic edge that adds character. On the palate, it is intense yet fresh, with lively structure, fine balance and an elegant finish. It is a very good match for grilled meats, slow-cooked dishes, game and rustic food with plenty of flavour. The wine is produced from organically grown Tempranillo in high-altitude vineyards, giving it both freshness, concentration and a clear sense of identity.
