The wind from the North Sea mixes blood with the Mexican desert in this double-distilled rye whiskey aged in old mezcal casks. An illegal love affair with a gentle and exotic aftertaste.
Stauning Bastard is a rye whiskey that is brewed from pure West Jutland ingredients, malted on the floor of our distillery and double-distilled over an open fire. After 3-4 years in new, burnt American oak casks, we have rounded off the whiskey with at least 6 months of residence in old mezcal casks from Mexican Oro de Oaxaca.
The result is an elegant crossroad of a rye whiskey that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
